I have been following The Impossible Man podcast with the man, the myth, the visionary Jon Morrow. I've received two content marketing certificates through his Smart Blogger courses. They are really top quality.
I felt privileged to listen in and learn more of his story.
I also love this idea of writing his story like a fiction. Will the book be launched after the 5 episodes?
Thanks for the hard work and sharing Jon's incredible journey.
As a Smartblogger student, I've read Jon's viral posts about his challenging health journey. In my mind, I put him on a hero/suffering saint pedestal, so I loved hearing his stories about getting kicked out of the computer science department and church! He is a badass and his perspective is fascinating. I'll keep on following this story for sure.
It's quite an amazing story with empathy and inspiration. Your health issue is actually a survival of uncertainty which is beyond imagination. Your story is a fiction in reality. There are many stories of such, but one that strafes and ends this way is one among million. Whatever has taken you, that you have gone through to making you who you are today is a miracle, but I believe that God did it for a purpose that is being manifested in your life today; a blessing to others "Making the impossible possible". Glory be the God!
Keep it up. I am currently taking a Smartblggoer class. I have physical limitations, chronic pain and other health issues that interfere with my life. Jon’s story is one source of inspiration. I need that as I have yet to accept my situation and develop a “fuck you” mentality.
Fascinating. Mind expanding. Just plain interesting. Please keep it going. (I recently finished Jon's Freelance Accelerator course. It's amazing what he's done. Hearing the story behind the man makes it all the better.)
An excellent pilot and definitely worth continuing. My brother, an ex-army commando, met his wife after she had become confined to a wheelchair with muscular dystrophy. She was like Jon, feisty and determined. With a background in the music industry, she established herself as a nightclub owner on Second Life. She was also an avid member of a global book club. Also like Jon, she outlived her limited prognosis by decades. Eventually her condition deteriorated to the point that my brother became her full time carer. Knowing how restrictive the illness is first hand, I find Jon's story very inspirational.
I've been a Jon Morrow fan for years now. I'm a sucka who said "Yes" every time one of his marketing emails hit my inbox. I wanted to learn how to write and I recognized his Socratic ability to attract an audience with his writing. Now, I'm going to take you back to 1987. I started meditating when I was 24 years old, when I read, "The Experience of Insight" by Joseph Goldstein "A Simple & Direct Guide to Buddhist Meditation". Almost immediately, I started noticing the synchronicities between what was happening in my mind and what was happening "out there". Since then I've become a Raja Yogi and studied the Bhagavad Gita. One of my favorite teachers is Sister Denise Lawrence. She is a scholar of the Bhagavad Gita and a Raja Yogi. (She was a journalist based in London in the 70's). You can find her on Youtube. I suggest putting "What is Soul Consciousness?" into your favorite search engine. Denise pointed out, and I concur, that each one of us experiences everything inside our own mind. I organize my experiences through the filter: I am a soul, other humans are embodied souls and God is a soul who has never had a body of his/her own. (Souls don't have gender.) Thank you for sharing your writer's journey with the rest of us Jon. You are indeed powerful. And thank you Johnny, I appreciate your to exploration into fiction, as a tool to connect with souls.
I can empathize with Jon as I too suffer from a vocal palsy that results in a hoarse voice. I still made sales as my career choice, not because I thought that was my niche, but because that was the only career available in the 80s for graduates/postgraduates in India. I suffered keeping my job, but since I was suave and street smart, I was able to get into some great jobs. I write well and one day I am planning to put my suffering too in the form of an autobiography as to how a minor handicap could affect different spheres of your life so much. Thanks, Jon, for inspiring me. I will definitely read through your book.
Episode One - Overview
Thank you so much for sharing your light with us Jon. Episode 1 was amazing and I am left with the
lingering reminder that nothing is so strong as gentleness and nothing as gentle as great strength.
If you aren't there already, I think you're well on the way to becoming an awe inspiring gentle man.
